Most of the Americans who bought a new Smartphone in the past three months chose device one that runs on Android instead of IOS or other operating systems Apple rivals, according to a survey released by Nielsen in September 26th. The study was carried out in August 2011 among the subscribers of the entire networks in the US.
The survey initiates that in general 43 % of Smartphone holders in the US had a device that worked with Google's Android operating system, Though, when the limitations of the survey was reduced to only smart phone owners for those who had bought an innovative device in the three months before August, the percentage of those choosing Android Smartphone increased to 53 percent.
Apple's competitor IOS operating system was the an option to chose for 28 % of all mobile phone owners in the U.S., and this percentage remained unaffected when reduced to include only purchases in the last three months.
Though, unlike Apple fans, purchasers of the devices running the BlackBerry operating system was reduced from 18 % of all purchases in the U.S. Smartphone only 9 % of purchases in the last three months. Further systems, like Windows, furthermore lost ground with the purchase of devices under other category of the fall of 11 percent of the total to six percent in the last three months.
As per the study circulated on 7 April by technology market research firm Gartner, Android’s sale devices all over the world came to 46.8 million in the second quarter of the year 2011 and now represent 43.4 % the market. Though, in the same study by Gartner which also predicts that the IOS sustain a market share until at least 2014 even though the growth of Android.
