The once-rumoured Facebook phone is coming (and it's in fact two phones). As the most recent rumors properly indicated, the handsets originate from London-based INQ Mobile and therefore are "the result of close collaboration with Facebook," according to the company's press release.
The INQ Cloud Touch will likely be the first phone of the gate. It is running Android 2.2 and includes a 3.5-inch touchscreen along with a 600-megahertz processor. It will be available in the sometime in the second quarter.
The third quarter will bring the INQ Cloud Q, a 2.6-inch Android handset. Both phones will probably be available at The Carphone Warehouse and Best Buy locations in the U.K. There is no word on U.S. availability.
The phones are "built for folks worldwide who use Facebook as their primary means of communication," with most main functions acting as direct extensions of Facebook features-chat, messaging, calendar, and contacts. Spotify will be the default music player.
